Diversity in Change - alternative perspectives on criteria for success Webinar, 14th April 2016
The Enabling Change SIG and Women in Project Management SIG joint webinar took place on Thursday 14th April 2016.
Programme teams and their stakeholders increasingly operate across multiple nationalities. How does this diversity affect our stereotypes of masculine and feminine approaches to change and the criteria for success?
Change programmes and project team members, their sponsors and stakeholders represent an increasingly diverse range of nationalities.
Cultural norms for leading and dealing with change, and any associated stereotypes of masculine and feminine approaches are increasingly challenging to navigate.
This joint webinar from the Women in Project Management and Enabling Change SIGs enabled attendees to:
- Recognise what their underlying assumptions about differences might be
- Develop their insight into the many facets of diversity and what it means for organizations and teams, projects and change
- Understand what to consider when working with multi-cultural groups
- Identify how these perspectives might impact their own leadership or management of virtual teams whether in-house or external (for example, across client and suppliers).
The speakers, Kent Thomson and Sarah Coleman, shared their insights, thoughts and experiences of diversity in project environments, including diverse cultures both internationally and closer to home.
Kent and Sarah have very kindly allowed their material to be made available for viewing.
The slides and webinar recording are available in our APM resources area and also below for reference.
