Communication, communication, communication. That was the emphatic golden rule of project management from NASA’s chief knowledge manager Ed Hoffman.

However, Tom Clarke from LV= felt that project professionals should consider “engaging with your stakeholders early and often”.

But, when it came to knowledge management Professor Eddie Obeng OBE said it was vital to “continue to learn, continue to share and keep changing what you do.”

What has become apparent is there are many pertinent issues for a project manager to consider. The APM Body of Knowledge covers 69 topic areas that all good project professionals should be aware of.

APM has spoken to over 100 industry leaders and project practitioners for their pearls of wisdom, which they feel helps to increase the likelihood of project delivery success.

Whether you are you just starting out in your career or have been in the profession for a while, it’s always useful to learn from others and discover their Golden Rules of Project Management.

APM’s new video series will begin with golden rules of project communication, stakeholder management and knowledge management.

More Golden Rules of Project Management videos will be added in due course, so in the meantime subscribe to APM’s You Tube channel to receive updates whenever we upload new videos.
