Howard Dolan retires

APM Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Chief Executive, Howard Dolan, will retire at the end of the month (April) after a decade in which the association enjoyed unprecedented growth. 

Howard was responsible for a broad range of functions during APM’s decade long period of development. As well as finance, he also oversaw facilities, the association’s PMO, IT, HR and customer services functions within Ibis House.

“Howard is one of the unsung heroes of APM’s success over the last 10 years.” said CEO Sara Drake, “Not only has he been instrumental in building the Ibis House team into what it is today, he has helped to steer the association through some of the most challenging economic times the UK has ever faced. APM is in a strong position because of his work.  We would all like to thank him and wish him well in his retirement.” 

APM Chair, Steve Wake, also praised Howard’s contribution: “Without Howard the APM would not be where it is today. Which is in a very good place.  If we look back 10 years then we have come a very long way.  I got to know Howard very well in the last three years. Without him we could not have transformed in the way we have. It could have unravelled. But he remained ever professional and resilient. My personal thanks and those of the Association as it prepares for Chartership.  Howard did not want a ‘gold watch’ but the Board is delighted to mark his long service and retirement with a thank-you dinner.  For Howard and his family it’s time to start working through the wish list. During Howard’s time with the association APM’s individual membership has grown by over 10,000 and its annual income more than tripled. As well as setting up the APM’s finance function in 2004, he was also instrumental in moving the organisation to Ibis House in 2008.
