Project professionals quick to take up refreshed APM qualifications
The recently refreshed APM qualifications – Introductory Certificate: The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification, and APMP: The APM Project Management Qualification – are being taken up quickly by project professionals across the UK.
Examinations against the revised syllabuses have been available since the beginning of May and APM Accredited Providers offering the new courses to project management professionals are seeing a positive response from candidates.
“All of our candidates enjoyed the course and are already finding extreme relevance in their day to day roles”, said Richard Thomas of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, talking about their latest cohort to take the Introductory Certificate: the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification. He continued, “They are now looking forward to taking the APMP course as the relevance to the whole organisation is clear”.
The first examinations have taken place and those candidates will be receiving their results soon.
Anyone taking the online examination for the Introductory Certificate: The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification receives an immediate indication of their result as soon as they have finished the examination, with the verified result confirmed in writing shortly after.
“We have found that having the Introductory Certificate examination online has been popular with both candidates and employers, particularly when combined with distance learning,” said Colin Balchin of Adept Knowledge Management, one of APM’s accredited training providers. “This is then a catalyst for taking up the APMP course, the next step in their learning and development.”
The refresh has aligned both of the examinations with the APM Body of Knowledge 6th edition. The revised syllabuses are available to view on our dedicated webpages, along with guidance notes and sample papers:

Paul Naybour of Parallel Project Training, another one of APM’s accredited training providers said, “It has been a smooth transition to the new syllabuses for us and the new course material is being well received by our candidates.”
Other training providers who are already providing the refreshed qualifications include MSC, Provek, QA, Quanta and University College London.
You can book a training course through one of our accredited training providers, or take an APM open examination following self-study.
New APM qualifications at IPMA Levels C-A are also being developed, ready to be launched later this year.
